Are You Giving Your Lips The TLC It Needs?

If you haven’t, don’t panic! We’re here to help.

Chances are that you have a very well-stocked shelf full of cleansers, lotion, face creams and serums but, how much of your entire skincare routine is dedicated to your lips?

Despite being an integral part of your appearance, how much attention and tender loving care do we put into maintaining our lips to keep them from being dry and chapped? Here are five ways to give your lips the TLC they deserve.

1. Use natural products

One of the rising trends of the beauty industry is the use of natural, organic products. Consumers are now more aware of what goes into these products and ultimately, their bodies. There are many recipes for home-made lip care like beeswax, coconut oil and cocoa butter for a lip balm or even a honey and yoghurt lip hydrating mask!

2. Exfoliate regularly

Exfoliating with a simple recipe of sugar and honey can help to remove dead and/or dry skin, allowing helping new skin to take its place for a healthy glow.  Because everyone’s lips are different, exfoliating too frequently or far apart you may not achieve the desired results if you exfoliate too frequently so remember to do it moderately! either so do adjust accordingly!

3. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise

Whether most of your day is spent in an air-conditioned environment or, out in the sun or a mixture of different environments, note that you need to keep your lips moisturised. Apply a thin layer of lip balm to keep them from drying and cracking as your lips have a thinner layer of skin as compared to the rest of your face.

4. Perfect your lips with dermal fillers

Enhance your beautiful smile with soft, sensual lips to be a head-turner anywhere. Add volume and definition to your lips with patented CPM technology HA dermal fillers as they integrate so smoothly into your tissue that they feel completely natural! To add that extra charm to your beautiful smile, you may also treat your nasolabial folds and enhance your jawline with dermal fillers to achieve the alluring smile, perfect from every angle. Remember to always seek a medical professional for tailored advice!

5. Protection

As lips have thinner skin compared to the rest of your body, ensure you protect them from sun damage.  Products with SPF 30 and above can be used to protect lips from UV exposure as well as lock in the moisture. As lips do not produce melanin – a pigment within your skin that helps to protect cells from UVB radiation, they are more susceptible to UV damage. Thus, do remember to reapply every two to three hours to ensure constant coverage.

Whether you’re starting a lip care beauty routine or thinking about enhancing your lips and smile, do remember to keep them hydrated and moisturised, and treat them with the TLC they deserve!
